Senior Research Fellow – Population Nutrition

Deakin University recently re-designated the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (CPAN) as a research institute, the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN).  IPAN is a multidisciplinary research institute spanning biomedical, clinical and population health research with world class expertise in both nutrition and physical activity. IPAN’s vision is to improve the health and quality of life of Australians through nutrition and physical activity research excellence.

The Senior Research Fellow – Population Nutrition will conduct research in the area of nutrition as it relates to population health (e.g. nutritional epidemiology, population-based dietary interventions; nutrition promotion, food and nutrition policy). Examples of current project areas include: meal composition and timing; dietary patterns and health; nutrition promotion interventions with a focus on mothers and children; school nutrition promotion; social-psychological influences on consumer behaviours; nutrition and ageing cohort study; food environments and eating behaviours; influencing the food supply to promote health; food and nutrition policy critiques; formulating policy recommendations to promote healthy and sustainable food systems.
