BASE LEVEL SALARY FOR LEVEL C of $114,145
Position Description
DUTIES
• Undertake various research related administrative functions including the preparation of grant and ethics applications, design and implementation of research studies, and the preparation of conference presentations and research papers.
• Supervise research support staff involved
in the staff member’s research and ensure implementation of all relevant University policies, in particular those relating to equal opportunity, Occupational Health and Safety, staff development, and staff performance planning and review.

• Remain up-to-date and contribute to current literature and methods relevant to the area of expertise.
• Contribute to teaching in relation to his/her research project(s) and / or area of expertise.
• Develop research-related material for teaching or other purposes, for use in relevant teaching programs.
• Promote the activities of the University, particularly those relating to research and research training, within academic and professional communities in Australia and internationally.
• Effectively manage the research funds for grants received for his or her research project(s).
• Participate in research profiling activities including meetings with key stakeholders and participation in media and other communications activities.
• Attend meetings associated with the research project(s) with which the researcher is involved or other meetings as appropriate, such as Institute/School/Faculty meetings and play a role in planning and committee work.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION AND INDEPENDENCE
• Research is conducted independently in the context of supervising and consulting with other team members.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT
• The Senior Research Fellow is expected to exercise judgement on work methods and task sequences within standard practices and procedures and to seek expert advice for work methods that fall outside the standard practices.
• Capacity to work independently, to use initiative and to work well within a team setting.
