University of Illinois at Chicago Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition

The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, in applied kinesiology.  The Department has strengths in basic biomedical, clinical and community-based research that spans the fields of health promotion, motor control, obesity, biomechanics and exercise physiology. The Department has a thriving undergraduate program with over 650 undergraduate majors. The doctoral program in Kinesiology was ranked among the top five in the U.S. by a recent survey conducted by the National Research Council. In addition, the Institute for Health Research and Policy (IHRP) on campus is the largest research institute of the University of Illinois at Chicago, designated by the Illinois Board of Higher Education in 1997 to stimulate and support high-quality campus research with aims to improve health practices and policies through a multidisciplinary perspective. UIC recently received the 2014 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine for its diversity and inclusion initiatives and its broad definition of diversity on campus.
