PROFESSOR OF NUTRITION or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NUTRITION

Deakin University recently re-designated the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (CPAN) as a research institute, the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN).  IPAN is a multidisciplinary research institute spanning biomedical, clinical and population health research with world class expertise in both nutrition and physical activity. IPAN’s vision is to improve the health and quality of life of Australians through nutrition and physical activity research excellence.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NUTRITION

We are seeking an Associate Professor with an established research record and experience in human dietary intervention trials to play a leadership role and complement existing research strengths in disease aetiology, disease prevention, treatment or management, or healthy ageing (including areas such as malnutrition, physical function, cognitive function and chronic disease). Expertise in clinical nutrition, food-based trials, or nutritional genomics would be highly regarded.

The Associate Professor will provide outstanding academic and research leadership in the area of Nutrition and promote IPAN and the School within relevant academic and professional communities in Australia and internationally.  The appointee will initiate and contribute to research, teaching and program development and entrepreneurial activity in the area of Nutrition.  The appointee will contribute to service activities locally and internationally particularly in relation to student recruitment and will champion the strategic directions of IPAN, the School, the Faculty and the University.
