Position Description

The University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health invites applications to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level on the Austin Regional Campus within the Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Science at UTHealth School of Public Health in Austin.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities include conducting externally funded research, teaching graduate-level courses within the HPBS core curriculum, directing graduate student research, and developing collaborations across campuses, departments, communities, and academic institutions. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of biological and behavioral nutrition and related methodologies, including assessment techniques, study designs, and their applications to the development and evaluation of child, adolescent and family health programs and policies. 

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

Specifically, we are interested in candidates with:

 


-An earned doctoral degree in health promotion-behavioral science, or related  disciplines in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods;
-Graduate level teaching and research emphasis experience in epidemiology or    health promotion-behavioral science related to nutritional sciences;
-A track record of research publications commensurate with academic rank and  demonstrating potential for securing external funding;
-Experience with conducting research in community settings preferred; and
-Certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred.
