Position Description

Assistant Professor, Food and Nutrition Security Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) seeks an outstanding scholar who uses food and nutrition science approaches, basic or applied, to alleviate the nutrition and health consequences of food insecurity at the regional, national, and/or international level. This is a full-time 9-month (academic year) tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will contribute to at least one of the FSHN Department’s core areas: biochemical and molecular nutrition; food security and safety; integrated food, nutrition, and health; and food material science and engineering. Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in the food and/or nutrition sciences or closely related disciplines. Evidence of professional promise and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Expertise in food and nutrition security as it relates to nutrition and health outcomes is required.
