GACD Launches Funding Call on Lung Diseases in LMICs and Vulnerable Populations

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) is an innovative alliance of funding agencies.

It has launched its third call for research proposals. It will request implementation research proposals to address lung diseases as related to environmental exposures, including indoor and outdoor air pollution and tobacco. This initiative will focus on research in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and/or with targeted populations in high-income countries (HICs).

In order to maximise the impact of the joint call, in most cases research teams applying for funding are expected to consist of researchers from low- and middle-income countries and high-income countries.
