COVID-19 Information and ISBNPA, April 2, 2020

Thursday, April 2, 2020

Dear colleagues,

In light of the rapidly evolving uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the recent WHO declaration of a pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the face-to-face meeting in Auckland 2020.

We acknowledge the seriousness of this situation, COVID-19 is affecting everyone. Some may have access to fewer resources than others, and we are deeply concerned by these inequalities. We hope communities find the means to distribute essential resources equitably to all communities in all parts of the world.

The ISBNPA Executive Committee and the ISBNPA2020 Organising Committee have given a lot of thought and consideration into this decision. We ask for your understanding as this decision was made with the safety and security of our participants, partners and operational personnel in mind. Our mission as a society is not in agreement with a “just cancel” position, and this decision represents a significant allocation of ISBNPA’s resources. We want to restart thinking about opportunities in a future where behavioural change science will undoubtedly play an important role.

All abstracts accepted for the 2020 Annual Meeting will be published in the ISBNPA 2020 Abstract Book. Anyone who has registered and paid will automatically be refunded in full and will receive details via email in the coming weeks. Don’t forget to cancel any Auckland accommodations or reservations you may have made.

Kaua e manukanuka, do not worry,

we will have an opportunity to come back to Auckland in June 2022!

Stay healthy, safe and well and please do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by staying home.

See you in Auckland 2022!
