Position Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the field of Physical Activity and Public Health in research and teaching. The professorship is dedicated to the epidemiology of physical activity and sport at the population level, as well as the promotion and measurement of physical activity. In teaching, the candidate will be responsible for the field of Public Health within the programme “Sports Science and Kinesiology” at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, as well as in the “Physical Education” teacher education programme. Applicants are expected to demonstrate outstanding research and related teaching activities in the above-mentioned areas.

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD) in the field of Public Health or Sport Science; Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching for the requirements and the profile of the professorship; Demonstrable ability to publish in peer-reviewed literature; Ability in attracting project funding; Skills in higher education didactics and online teaching; Gender mainstreaming skills; Professional experience abroad during academic career; Good knowledge of German and English; International experience in presenting papers and delivering lectures; Experience in the field of “Physical activity in pregnancy” is desirable.
