Position Description
We are seeking a full-time Research Associate / Research Fellow to join our team at Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore.
The focus of our research is to develop better understanding of physical,
socio-cultural, and political/economic environmental factors and the interplay
between individuals and their environment to improve eating and activity
behaviours.

Ongoing projects address three main areas:

  1. Examine environmental factors
    that influence food choice and physical activity in Singapore.
  2. Evaluate how the interaction of
    individuals with their environment affects their eating and physical activity
    behaviors using real time monitoring,
    including mobile technology and ecological momentary assessment methodology.
  3. Develop and evaluate
    dynamically tailored real-time
    interventions.

The position is initially available for a
period of 1 year, and could be extended.  

Within the above mentioned research areas the
position offers the opportunity to work on different public health projects.
She/he will have the opportunity and is expected to conduct and lead different project
related tasks.

Potential roles and responsibilities include:

  • Planning and preparation of new
    research projects,
  • Coordination and administrative
    responsibilities related to the implementation of research projects,
  • Data collection and analysis,
  • Preparation of scientific
    publications and conference presentations. 
Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)
  •  Masters in public health related field involving quantitative research
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Proficient in data management and analysis using standard software (Stata etc)
  • Experience of publishing in peer-reviewed international journals
  • Experience in and enthusiastic about the use and development of electronic and mobile health approaches within the stated research areas
  • Experience in qualitative research methodologies would be welcome
