The purpose of the position is to conduct research in the area of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, diet and/or weight gain prevention and health. The focus of the research will be on innovative e- and mHealth interventions to improve health behaviour. This role involves working in a team-based environment and collaborating with different researchers on a range of projects. The research includes analysis and preparation of manuscripts for publication based on data from intervention studies and population health datasets, as well as the preparation and submission of grant proposals.

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
– A strong record of publications in high quality peer reviewed journals as a lead author relative to opportunity.
– Experience with development and evaluation of e– and mHealth based interventions in the area of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, diet and/or weight gain prevention.
– Postgraduate qualifications in psychology, social sciences, human movement studies, health promotion, public health or a related scientific or health related discipline.
– A thorough understanding of epidemiology and public health research methods.
– Experience with statistical packages (SPSS, Stata, SAS, R) in the area of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, diet and/or weight gain prevention.
– Demonstrated ability to independently undertake statistical analysis using cross-sectional and longitudinal data sets in the area of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, diet and/or weight gain prevention.

Remuneration:
Total remuneration ranges from $60,911 to $82,351 per annum and includes salary from $71,871 to $97,168 per annum, plus employer superannuation and annual leave loading.
