Assistant Professor, Southern Medical Program, Chronic Disease Prevention Program

The Southern Medical Program within the Faculty of Medicine at UBC invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Chronic Disease Prevention Program (CDPP). An appropriate academic department in the Faculty of Medicine will be identified at the time a successful candidate is selected.
The CDPP is a newly established program, forged from a vision to establish an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary program of research and knowledge translation for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and conditions.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated research excellence, or the potential for research excellence, in the study of physical activity or healthy eating as it applies to cardiovascular or respiratory diseases, diabetes, neurotrauma or neurodegenerative diseases. Examples of relevant research programs may include (but are not limited to):
*research to develop innovations to change incidence, morbidity and mortality associated with chronic disease/conditions;
*research to improve the design and implementation of programs to prevent or manage chronic disease/conditions; &
*research that measures outcomes associated with the prevention or management of chronic disease/conditions.
