Abstract:
This webinar will present results from a pilot intervention in the US. A discount variety store that operates in low income communities piloted the adoption of the US Supplemental Nutrition for Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) in ten of their stores. About 50% of infants born in the US participate in WIC. The WIC program provides low income women and children with vouchers for healthy foods. These vouchers are used at participating food stores. This webinar examines the sales of foods prior to and post WIC adoption to examine the impact of WIC on sales.
