8TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL WEIGHT STIGMA CONFERENCE

Founded in 2013, the Annual International Weight Stigma Conference is now in its eighth year, having been held in the UK, Canada, Iceland, and Czech Republic. This year, we come to New Zealand.

The Weight Stigma Conference is an inter-disciplinary event that brings together scholars and practitioners from a range of backgrounds (e.g., psychology, medicine, public health, allied health professions, education, sports and exercise science, social sciences, sociology, anthropology, fat studies, gender studies, media studies, business, public policy, law) to consider research, policy, rhetoric, and practice around the issue of weight stigma.

We are now accepting abstracts for oral presentations and posters, as well as session proposals including brief symposia, round tables, debates, and workshops. We are also interested in non-traditional submissions (e.g. media, performance, art). For more information about the conference and to submit an abstract, please visit: stigmaconference.com

Submission deadlines:

·      Proposals for conference sessions and oral presentations:  

Round 1: Mon 17th Feb, 2020 (submissions received by this point will be reviewed first, with decisions by 24th Feb.

Round 2: Mon 2nd Mar, 2020 (decisions by 9th March)

·      Posters submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis

 

(THE CONFERENCE ORGANIZERS ARE ALLOWING MEMBERS FROM THE ISBNPA COMMUNITY TO SUBMIT DURING THE SECOND ROUND BUT STILL RUN TO CONFERENCE SESSIONS OR ORALS, PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW) 

Submit using the abstract submission form, select ‘Poster’, which is the only choice, but indicate at the bottom of your abstract that you are a member of ISBNPA and what format of presentation you are hoping for.
