Position Description

The Department
of Health & Kinesiology at Purdue University seeks applicants for a tenure track
position in the area of Sport & Exercise Psychology to begin fall 2018.  A doctoral degree in kinesiology or related
field and evidence of scholarship in the psychology of exercise/physical
activity (broadly defined) or related field is required.  Post-doctoral experience preferred.  An independent line of research with potential
for attracting extramural funding is expected at the assistant level, and
evidence of successful and current extramural funding is expected at the
associate level.  Responsibilities also
include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, advising graduate
students, and serving on departmental, college, and/or university committees.  There are ample opportunities for
interdisciplinary collaborations within the department, the College of Health
and Human Sciences, and campus-wide emphasis areas (e.g., obesity, cancer,
gerontology, children/adolescents, disease prevention, imaging, engineering).  Professional collaborative opportunities and
pilot funding also exist with the NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and
Translational Sciences Institute (

of Health and Human Sciences (

Department of Health & Kinesiology is one of nine units in the College of
Health & Human Sciences and is home to over 650 undergraduate students and 40
graduate students.  Purdue is

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

 A doctoral degree in kinesiology or related
field and evidence of scholarship in the psychology of exercise/physical
