Position Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a talented researcher to establish skills in developing and evaluating e-health interventions.  The work will be carried out under the supervision of Professor Lucy Yardley, and will involve gaining experience of supporting website users, planning and developing interventions, running clinical trials, and carrying out qualitative and quantitative evaluations of usage of web-based interventions.  This post provides valuable training in important health research skills and is an ideal opportunity for applicants wishing to pursue further research with the large and successful LifeGuide team (seewww.lifeguideonline.org ) in the field of e-health interventions.

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

You will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in health psychology or a related area, a detailed understanding and knowledge of health psychology, the ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context and excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail. No previous programming or website development experience is needed, but a liking and aptitude for logic-based analysis is required (e.g. SPSS or Excel syntax).

*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who hold a PhD or equivalent qualification, or, in the case of candidates who already have at least one relevant research paper accepted for publication, who have submitted a PhD thesis for the examination of the degree of PhD and are preparing for an examination by viva.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon award of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
