Position Description

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)

Earned Doctorate (or appropriate terminal degree) in Health and Exercise Science, Public Health, Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline; academic credentials for appointment at Professor rank; evidence of ability to effectively administer and advocate for a large academic unit with diverse instruction, research, and outreach programs; strong record of teaching and mentoring excellence; strong record of extramurally funded research; ability to contribute in the areas of service and engagement within the Department, College, and University.

Preferred qualifications:
Previous leadership experience in a university setting; demonstrated ability to effectively develop, communicate and implement a strategic vision; experience with development and evidence of success in securing alternative revenue streams for departmental activities; record of commitment to diversity; demonstrated team building and management skills (e.g. research team development, student and faculty mentoring, grant management).
