The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health in Austin Texas is expanding a multidisciplinary research program in the integration of epidemiology and behavioral sciences in the study of child, adolescent and family health, particularly related to obesity, nutrition and physical activity. We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant professor rank. Competitive salary and start-up resources are available. The positions will report to the Regional Dean of the Austin campus and the department chairs of Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences or Health Promotion-Behavioral Sciences.

Candidate’s Qualifications (who should apply)
Primary responsibilities include conducting externally funded research, teaching graduate-level courses, directing graduate student research, and developing collaborations across campuses, departments, and communities. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of the physical and social determinants of health and their applications to the development and evaluation of child, adolescent and family health programs and policies. Specifically, we are interested in candidates with:
• An earned doctoral degree in epidemiology, health promotion-behavioral science, or related disciplines in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods;
• Graduate level teaching and research emphasis experience in epidemiology or health promotion-behavioral science related to nutritional sciences;
• A track record of research publications commensurate with academic rank and demonstrating potential for securing external funding;
• Experience with conducting research in community settings preferred; and • Certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred.
