A book on science of motivation from our ISBNPA colleague Michelle Segar

Michelle Segar, PhD, MPH, ISBNPA member, director of the University of Michigan’s Sport, Health, and Activity Research and Policy Center and chair of the U.S. National Physical Activity Plan’s Communications Committee, recently published No Sweat: How the Simple Science of Motivation Can Bring You a Lifetime of Fitness

No Sweat has been a best-selling book on Amazon in the US and Canada since publication.  Featured in The New York Times, No Sweat translates research on self-determination theory, decision making, and self-regulation into methods and messages for the general public as well as practitioners who work in health-related areas. It reflects a culmination of over 20 years of interdisciplinary research combined with a method for coaching individuals that has a long-term evaluation funded by the National Institutes of Health.

No Sweat is starting to be adopted as a text in relevant college and graduate courses, and there is a free Teaching and Discussion Guide to accompany it available
